Don't worry, just carry on as you are and I bet the scales will start to move faster within the next couple of days. Or maybe you need to move up a plan?? x

Don't give up...this diet really does work and once your body gets used to it it's so easy!
I had a similar loss in my second week- but I've lost 23 pounds now...in a month!

Don't give up!! the weight will fly off you-honestly! Were you drinking enough water? i think if you don't drink enough, your body retains water. Also, was your weigh-in in the evening? If so, it might have just been all of the water you drank that day still in your stomach-water weighs a massive amount! You should have drunk the same next week so that might be a better way of comparing weight loss? |

Hi carolline, I was in exactly the same boat as you on Tuesday. I had done SS solid for 6 days and not cheated at all once and only lost 4lb, was gutted to say the least!
My CDC said that ketosis doesn't kick in till at least day 3 so that will affect weight loss and the fact that I weighed after only doing 6 days. TOTM will also contribute and water intake too.
I must admit that yesterday I had an SS+ day and had some tuna salad which really helped, and was the nicest meal I have ever had!!!!! Everyone keeps telling me that this week I will see some better results, I do indeed hope so!!!
Keep your chin up, you are not alone I am in exactly the same position.
Good luck with this week and try not to look at the average loss in the first week of others on here as I have learnt. We are all different and bodies react in different ways.
xxx

Thanks for your words, i have been drinking between 3 and 4 litres of water and the 3 shakes per day still i thought less than 2 pounds sounded like nonsense when most people lose between 4 and 10 pounds on their 1st week. thank you again!

I am sure it will Caroline. I have moved up to SS+ this week and my scales at home are looking a little more positive so far!!! I know everyone says how much water you need to drink but I have cut down from 4litres to 3litres.
I really hope this works for you x

Ok there are 2 aspects I can think of here that could lead to a less than desireable 1st weigh in. The first is the usual one of water retention. Loads has been written on the forum about that so I'll say no more.
The second is that it may well be that prior to starting the Cambridge, you'd already been dieting and so depleted your glycogen and water stores. This would explain why you haven't had the dramatic losses that others starting on Cambrdge can do.
Stick with it. This does work. I've had weeks where I've lost nothing, even had a week of 100% where I gained due to water retention. The thing is that I will always have lost fat in those weeks and that loss was being disguised by what was happening with the water. My mothly averages of loss have always worked out though and if I'd given up I would have missed out on the following bumper weightloss weeks where the scales catch up with the fat loss.

My weight loss has been up and down, but not massive as other peoples has been, but I did find with the water that I had to find what was right for my body, I went from not enough, to too much, and then found that between 2 and 2.5 lts a day was what I needed and it seems to have worked, so it took me a few weeks to find out what was best.
Keep going and your body will catch up, even if you don't lose lbs some weeks you will lose inches, I think one week I lost less than 1lbs, but when I measured myself I had lose 2 inches from my waist and 2 from my hips, so don't be disheartened, the diet does work but as others have said everybody is different and you need to find what is right for you.
