i know i was supposed to make the lentil curry today but a fresh piece of cod was waiting for me in the fridge and i cudnt resist
i had a skinless boneless cod fillet
i seasoned it with cumin powder, chilli powder, mixed herbs, and black pepper.
left it in the fridge for an hour or so.
then grilled it and put a splash of balsamic vinegar on it.
served it with some grean leaf salad and a yoghurt, coriander and green chilli dip
yum yum yum yum yum
it was divine.

I chopped courgette, a fennel bulb and an oversized spring onion into a large very non-stick frying pan and dry fried for about 5 mins. Then I squirted on lots of lemon juice and added two loins of cod (both about half the 810 allowance weight). Left it for another 5 mins or so and made some couscous for OH while it all cooked. Served my fish and about 2tblsps veggies and then added some salt and served OH's with cous cous.

You could obviously adapt this if only having one 810 meal in a day.
When posting recipes please ensure you stick to the allowable foods for the programme.  Fennel bulb is not on the list, it is a member of the carrot family also salt should not be added to the meal and it can cause water retention which in turn can affect weightloss.

LENTILS & CHICKPEAS

Both of these are lovely whizzed in a blender, thinned out a little with a splash of milk and with maybe some black pepper, cumin or chilli powder or other spice.

Almost like a substitute for mashed potato - aim for consistency of yoghurt. Good accompaniment for quorn, chicken or fish.

just had the most yummylicious chicken curry ever!!
i had 170g of chicken breast cubed [i know it shud b 175 but thats all i had]
put it into a nonstick pot
2 squirts of 1 cal olive oil spray [i cud have done without but 2cals not too bad]
added cumin powder, turmeric, extra hot red chilli powder, dry parsley, mixed herbs, coriander powder, 1tsp of the veg water flavouring
1tbsp of green bell pepper [capsicum]
dry fry the stuff for a few minutes to seal the chicken.
then i added in some water [just to come halfway up the chicken] added in 1 chopped green chilli and some coriander and then just let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked and the water turns into a thick sauce add some more water if needed.

i had it with some caulifower and brocolli which i boiled till soft then mashed - 1 tbsp of this
and some salad leaves.
and cos i kinda overdid the chillies had a dollop of no fat yogurt.

the cauliflower kinda substituted for the rice and it was delicious.
i didnt have all the chicken curry i only had half so ive got a prepared meal for tomorrow also got a tbsp of the cauliflower rice left too so thats my dinner sorted for tomorrow. gonna have scrambled egg tonight so two good meals mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
im lovin it -sorry mcdonalds stole ur tag lol!!!

This is what you should have with your curry:Caulilower "rice"

Ingredients:

  • 1 head cauliflower (or however much you want)so obviously the amount you are allowed

Preparation:

To make this dish the most easily and to have it come out the best, three pieces of equipment are very helpful:

- A food processor
- A microwave
- A covered (or fairly tightly coverable) microwave-safe dish

1) Process fresh cauliflower until it is the size of rice, either using the plain steel blade or the shredder blade. Alternatively, you can shred it with a hand-held grater, or even use a knife, if you have the dexterity to chop it up VERY finely.

2) Microwave it in a covered dish. DO NOT ADD WATER. Cauliflower absorbs water like crazy, and the "granules" will become gummy. To keep it fluffy, just let the moisture in the cauliflower do its work, trial and error with the time depending on your miicrowave.
